Escape the Quake! is one of the flagship outreach and education initiatives of SISMOVEGA, designed to bring geosciences closer to the public in an engaging and memorable way.
Conceived as a hands-on learning experience, it transforms the traditional escape room concept into an outdoor adventure where participants—children, families, and school groups—work together to solve puzzles, decipher scientific clues, and complete challenges related to earthquakes and other natural disasters.
Escape the Quake! takes place at CAMPO (Center for the Analysis and Monitoring of seismic processes with Optical fiber), which also houses the DAS experiment.
Set in a natural environment rather than confined spaces. We combine exploration and teamwork to help participants understand their surroundings.
Each stage recreates elements of scientific investigation: locating an epicenter, interpreting seismic waves, and identifying ground deformation.

It also provides a platform for collaboration between scientists, educators, and local institutions, turning the Vega Baja del Segura into a living classroom where science, safety, and community come together.
